Hazelnut Chocolate Energy Bars

Turkish Hazelnuts add extra vitamins and fiber making this chocolatey mocha bar the perfect breakfast or anytime snack.


1 cup Hazelnuts, toasted
1 cup Dates
1/4 cup Cocoa powder
1/4 tsp Salt
1/3 cup Hazelnut butter
1/4 cup Honey
1 1/2 cups Rolled oats
1/2 cup Semisweet chocolate chips


Place dates in a food processor and mix until small bits remain and they form a ball. Add the cocoa powder and salt and process.

Heat the hazelnut butter and honey until warm. Pour into the food processor along with the remaining ingredients. Pulse until well mixed.

Transfer to a lightly greased and foil-lined 9 X 9 pan. Using a spatula pack the mixture into a tight square. Freeze to set for 15 minutes. Remove and cut into 15 bars. Store in an airtight container or bag in the fridge to keep fresh, or in the freezer for longer term storage.
